Jimmy Choo teams with Hunter for glamour gumboots
There are no sky-scraping heels to worry about, the boots feature a traditional shape but are embossed with Jimmy Choo’s signature crocodile print and feature gold buckle hardware, metal rivets and leopard print lining.
The bad news for fashionable Australians fearing floods is that these boots will be sold exclusively in the United Kingdom and the United States. Of course you can jump online at http://www.jimmychoo.com/ from May 1 and join the waiting list for when the wellies go on sale from June 1. (February 25, 2009)

Beyond the Rack
Filene's Basement "Running of the Brides"
The sale is held in selected Filene’s Basement stores once a year (twice a year in Boston). News reports so often compare it to the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain that the event is now officially called the “Running of the Brides®.”
The day of the sale, brides-to-be and their helpers line up early. When the doors open, they run full speed towards the racks. In less than 60 seconds, the racks are stripped bare (store employees have to hold on to the fixtures so they don’t topple). The women grab whatever gowns they can, haul them off to a corner, strip down to their underwear and start trying on dresses. Minutes later the trading begins. Every dress, no matter what size, style or color, gets bartered for another, as each bride tries to find the gown of her dreams at a cut-rate price.

Fake a tan year-round: Self-tanner tips & techniques
Celebrities love it. It's one fashion that never seems to go out of style. And you can afford it -- even do it yourself. What is it? The sunless tan. These days, a golden tan is available without the potentially harmful rays of the sun. Here are a few safe ways to maintain a tan year round, no matter where you live or what the weather!
Multitask with moisture and color combined
Self-tanning products come in various formulas, including lotions, sprays and creams. While offering great color, they can also make skin dry, so many companies have developed moisturizers with self-tanner in the formula.
Hawaiian Tropic Island Glow Daily Moisturizer has a green tea fragrance, and with daily use gives you a believable tan in one week. Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer won an Allure magazine Best of Beauty Award for their gradual self-tanner, and Dove Energy Glow Daily Moisturizer has earned raves for their subtle self-tanner. (Clearly, "glow" is the beauty buzzword of the tanning world.)
Even lingerie superstars Victoria's Secret boasts its own brand of glowing glory, called Bare Bronze. Supermodel Gisele Bundchen uses this product line -- which includes goodies like a pre-glow body scrub, shimmering body oil, sheer self-tan mousse, leg perfecting spray tint and an illuminating face tint -- and I have had great results with the product myself.

Planet Hope
In 1992, on the studio lot at Paramount Pictures, two sisters, Sharon and Kelly Stone, came together to create Planet Hope. Inspired by an accident that left Kelly physically impaired for years, the sisters recognized the importance of having Hope in one's life. It is from this shared family experience that Planet Hope was born.
Planet Hope has helped tons of thousands of families from around the world. Planet Hope programs have been able to offer gratis medical and dental care, new clothes for kids, counseling and image makeovers for homeless women and women that have been victims of domestic violence at our annual summer camp. Planet Hope's mission of providing hope for a better life has made a tremendous difference to thousands of homeless and abused children and their families.

That Girl Barbie
Barbie turns 50 -- in a Barbie World
NEW YORK: 'I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world" - the music group Aqua's tune was the only possible soundtrack for the parade of striped swimsuits, a floor-length fake sable coat, cropped jeans with a frilly top and a T-shirt printed with sweet words for her partner: "Every Barbie needs her Ken."
To celebrate the iconic doll with her fantastical wardrobe turning 50, Mattel teamed up with the Council of Fashion Designers of America to bring 50 designer fantasies to the runway.
With a front-row audience peppered with kids clutching their favorite Barbies, designers from Diane Von Furstenberg (wrap dress and wheelie bag) through Norma Kamali (polka-dot 1940s bikini) to Juicy Couture (pink butterflies on a brief, revealing tutu skirt) turned Barbie into a fashion model. Her bubble-gum-pink shiny shoes were by Christian Louboutin.
"Barbie is everything that an all-American gal should be - sporty, smart, sophisticated and sexy," said Michael Kors, while Tommy Hilfiger called the plastic fantastic with impossibly slim hips and preternaturally rounded bosoms "the quintessential American icon."
No designer was brave enough to dig down to the soul of Barbie: an only-in-America symbol of womanhood, scorned by feminists and banned by some anxious parents.

The Best Affordable, at Home / Do-it-Yourself Facial
You Don't Need Lots of Expensive Products to Look Great!
Wearing a white robe and slippers/Havaianas and popping blueberries while your doing your facial always adds to the experience
I adore being pampered. Ask me what I want for my birthday and the answer is bound to be something spa-related. What could be better than lying in a quiet room, perfectly temperature-controlled, with dim lights and soothing music. It's the next best thing to a flotation tank...so I'm told.Obviously, there's no way to give myself a complete body massage, but facials are another thing. After trying a range of products, some affordable, some not so, I've finally mastered the art of at home facials, thereby saving lots of money that I can now put towards massages. See. It all evens out in the end!
The best thing about my findings is that my favorite product happen to be some of the least expensive and most accessible. Here's how your hour of self-indulgence should look:
Visit your local drugstore, discount store, etc. I find my supplies at the local CVS or Walmart. Pick up the following:
Queen Helene Facial Scrub....either Oatmeal and Honey or Apricot will be fine.:This product gently exfoliates dead skin.
Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque: This product dries up pimples and shrinks large pores.
Queen Helene Grape See Extract Peel-Off Masque: This product softens facial lines and tones the skin.Seabreeze Astringent for Sensitive Skin.
The Queen Helene products are each under $3.00.
The Seabreeze is about $6.00, depending on the size you purchase.
Go home, put on comfy clothes and get ready to enjoy the process.
If you don't already have a facial steamer.Put about three inches of water in a big pot. Bring it to a boil, then leave it on simmer. Create a nearby space on a table to which you can easily transport the pot. You'll be using the steam more than once. Put a few drops of either eucalyptus oil or lavender oil in the simmering pot. You can find the oils at most natural foods stores.
First step:Remove all makeup.
Scrub your face with the Facial Scrub. Massage it in gently. This isn't about removing the skin, its about revitalizing it! Do this for about 2-3 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.
Put the simmering pot on the table. Carefully cover the pot with a bath towel and duck your head inside the tent. Inhale and exhalethe steam slowly, take in the aromas and let them heal you. Do this for about 5 minutes. The carefully remove the towel and return the pot to the stove to simmer.
Rinse your face with cool water. Dab on some Seabreeze. Let it dry.
Then Apply the Mint Julep Masque. Don't be stingy. You want a nice thick covering. It'll probably take a squirt from the tube that's about 3 inches long. After one time, you'll find your level of comfort. Smooth the masque on. Avoid the area right around your eyes. Avoid eyebrows. Feel free to go as far down your neck as you want to go.
Sit down in a comfortable chair, close your eyes and relax for about 10 minutes. The masque should then be dry. You'll see the color has lightened considerably once the masque is dry.
With a washcloth soaked in warm water, remove the masque completely. Return to the simmering pot. Put it on the table again and repeat the earlier process with the towel.
Once you've done your five minutes, you can pour out the pot's contents.
Again, dab your face with the Seabreeze. Let it dry.
Now apply the Grape Seed Masque, avoiding the same areas mentioned earlier. (Optional) If you want to can add a Eye Masque to your eyes, go ahead.Leave this masque on for a good half hour. Rinse with a washcloth in lukewarm water.
Dab your face one last time with the Seabreeze. Once it's dry, apply a light coat of your favorite moisturizer and consider yourself done...and beautiful.
Don't be stingy. The products are all so affordable that you'll be able to offer this as a gift to friends and lovers, and there'll still be plenty left for you. And trust me on this one, you'll look forward to the chance to do your next weekly facial, and wait till you see the difference in your complexion now that all the old skin cells are gone.
