Ideeli's Georgina Goodman sale

Labour of Love

By 2002, high-end shoes moved into the lead as the accessory status symbol of choice. Sophisticated shoppers everywhere had developed an almost Pavlovian response to the latest trends and were left lusting, practically salivating, over luxurious footwear. It was at this time when Georgina Goodman burst on to the scene. With her sexy yet practical, trendy yet classic creations, Goodman's designs were, quite literally, every woman's dream.
That is precisely what Goodman was trained to do. After working at I-D and Elle magazines, her understanding of what women craved coupled with her knack for design led her to Cordwainer's College in London where this native Brit took up coursework in footwear. After further study at the Royal College of Art, Goodman opened her first store in trendy Mayfair in December of 2002. Described by Manolo Blahnik himself as, "The future and only footwear designer worthy of note," Goodman has gone on to consult for fashion houses of great distinction including Alexander McQueen and was nominated Accessory Designer of the Year by the British Fashion Council two years running. With their signature black & white striped soles and "Made in Love" stamp, Goodman's creations are a rare blend of elegance and character rivaling even the most exquisite artwork in existence.

Ideeli's Satya sale

Buddhist Beauty

Even before becoming business partners, Satya Scainetti and Beth Torstick Ward shared more than a passion for jewelry. Both friends sought spiritual truth on their own personal soul-searching journeys. While Beth immersed herself in Buddhist culture, Satya studied at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in the Bahamas. During their travels, the friends decided to join forces and pursue their common dream of designing beautiful, meaningful jewelry.
After completing her training at the ashram, Satya received her spiritual name, meaning truth, and thus, the designers knew they had found the perfect name for their collection. Having founded their label while traveling abroad, Satya and Beth continue to find inspiration from their global travels: from temples to museums, from bustling local markets to quiet villages, unique places lead to unique pieces of jewelry. Semi-precious gemstones renowned for their ancient healing properties combine with gold and sterling to create beautiful jewelry that brings peace and hope to its wearers. Rooted in its mission to help wearers find their own individual truth, Satya Jewelry brings Buddhist beauty to modern life.

Mercury is Retrograde

It’s that time again…Mercury, the planet that rules communication, technology and transportation, is retrograde. Mercury passes the Earth in its orbit, 3-4 times a year, creating the illusion that it’s spinning backward. During this cycle, everything under its rulership goes haywire: computers and cell phones break down, people argue for no good reason, restaurant reservations disappear into the ether, and trains mysteriously fail to show up.
So yeah, is there anything good about this cycle? Just think of the prefix “re-” and go backward, too. Consider Mercury retrograde like a quarterly review period, a necessary review before you move ahead. Tie up loose ends, reconnect with old friends and colleagues, read the fine print before signing contracts. Review, reunite, repay, reconsider, rewrite…you get the idea. And you can always use prevention by double-confirming plans, being extra patient with people, and backing up important data.

Mercury is retrograde in Gemini this time, and the cycle lasts until May 30th.
Here’s the area it will touch your sign specifically — so take extra care in this area:

Aries: Communication, siblings, tech gadgets (cell phones)
Taurus: Health, subconscious mind, old memories, unfinished business
Gemini: Appearance, self-confidence, asserting yourself
Cancer: Money, work, material objects and property
Leo: Friends, groups, computers and electronic equipment
Virgo: Career, fathers, men, authority, rules, structure
Libra: Long-distance travel, education, tactless remarks
Scorpio: Property, real estate, credit cards, debt, intimacy, sex
Sagittarius: Relationships (business and personal)
Capricorn: Health, fitness, organization, pets
Aquarius: Romance, pregnancy, children, drama
Pisces: Family, mothers, home
