As we mentioned in Looking Forward To: Spring Trends, this key piece of jewelry had a major presence in the season's shows. Now much-discussed fashionphiles like Natalia Vodianova and Mischa Barton are translating that runway look into their real-life style and are opting for everything from baby bibs to full-blown breastplates! Is Fiftysomething the New Twentysomething?

Sure, it has made female sexuality quite empowering, thanks to Kim Cattrall's character, Samantha, but these four gals—Sarah Jessica Parker, Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis—have basically redefined what sexy is.

It's not the twentysomething girl who can't hold her liquor and is only "hot" because she was raised in a generation that grew up understanding TiVo. It's all about experience now...
"I think you're right," Max Ryan said, nodding his head in agreement when we asked what he thought about the new generation of sexy.

"I think there's a lot of experience there, a lot of maturity, after 40. It's a healthier lifestyle. They're comfortable with themselves, they've seen it all, done it all. Yeah, older women are the new sexy! Plus you can't lie to them as easily [laughs]."

Glad to know a studmuffin like Ryan can agree, since we're sure he has a slew of younger babes vying for his attention.

But seriously, give us Cattrall any day over the Mischa Bartons of the club scene. There are a few babes, though, who are smart in selling sexuality and age, and one would be Kim Kardashian.
She knows how to be hot without being too obvious about it. Kim works her petite curves and actually is quite a savvy businesswoman, like how she titled her new fragrance Voluptuous instead of Stick Thin and No Personality.

Gals like Kim Kardashian and even Megan Fox (who has brilliantly toned it down) are totally the future Kim Cattralls. No?

Said Max Ryan when he first met Kim C. during auditions:
"[Cattrall] was really kind of funky and normal, a regular girl. But she still carried this presence about her. She was just fantastic. Sexy. Really, I was like wow."

You listening, young Hollywood? This is the kinda babe you wanna be in 30 years. Not a washed-up Hollywood actress with meth-face who can't hold any job. No comment on which starlet we are referring to.

Stacked Bangles at the Oscars

At the Oscars this evening, actresses Sarah Jessica Parker and Amanda Seyfried each chose to accent their couture gowns with impressive stacks of diamond bangles. Parker, wearing a pale yellow silk Chanel Haute Couture dress, complimented her sleeveless frock with a mass of beautiful bangles from Fred Leighton. The "Sex and the City" star had at least eight of the glittery accessories on her arm. (Oh to be at the Oscars!) Seyfried's Lady Gaga-esque Armani Privé gown - already a sparkler in its own right - caught a little extra shimmer with three super-sized Lorraine Schwartz cuffs. Also tapping into short stack trend? Penelope Cruz, Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey, and Faith Hill. So, ladies, take note. The next time you're readying for a night out on the town, instead of putting on one bracelet, try three, or four, or more!

Designer: Zein Ahmed
Girls Night Out Designer Since: 2008
http://www.guru-nyc.com/

How did you become a designer?
I started designing clothes when I was 18. All throughout my upbringing in Lahore, my family always had custom-tailored clothing made out of the finest quality fabrics. I carry on that tradition with Guru. My first exhibitions were in Lahore, NY and Delhi when I was 18. I emigrated to New York when I was 23, took classes at FIT, and went on to work in various roles in New York's fashion scene, from modeling to merchandising and management. I even explored my other passion—culinary arts and obtained a degree in French cuisine and restaurant management from ICE!

What’s your inspiration?
My inspiration is my upbringing in Lahore, my organic, eco-friendly way of life.

What’s your hometown?
Originally Lahore, Pakistan, now New York, NY

If you had to pick a favorite design from your collection, what would it be?
The Oatmeal Tunic because it is the linen used here is the natural un-dyed color of linen, and because the color combination reminds me most of my father's color sensibility. He is an extremely handsome man with an impeccable sense of color and coordination.

What are you wearing right now?
Beige tunic and jeans.

This sophisticated pendant will add a touch of the exotic to her professional look. The inspiration comes from a turban pin worn by a Mughal emperor from India, featuring twin enamel parrots around a white kundan lotus. The sparkling, intricate setting makes it a great detail piece for a tailored suit or an evening ensemble. (guru-nyc.com, $105)

Sarah Jessica Parker Dishes On Her New Gig as Fashion Exec at Halston

More details have emerged about Sarah Jessica Parker’s newly cemented role at storied American fashion label Halston. The actress will not only weigh in on the aesthetic of the collections as its chief creative officer, but the balance sheets too, as she was also named president and given an equity stake in the company. Parker tells WWD, “I think this is a brand new kind of business model, and it illustrates how serious I am about this position. I think it’s wonderful to feel invested in something.” The risk-taking 44 year-old adds, “I tend not to just endorse something. I like feeling the stakes.” Being a film star isn’t the usual trajectory for running a clothing line, as she’s the first to admit: “I know I come to the company in a rather unorthodox way but I’m not the first to be president of a company without the traditional background,” Parker says. “Others have been successful in those endeavors and I do so hope I can be as well.” As for what she brings to the table, the star cites, “good manners, a point of view that is inspiring, that is hopefully smart, and an incredible passion and excitement and enthusiasm, as well as some experience of what I know about women, that having been pretty much the focus of my role in ‘Sex and the City.’” For more on Parker’s role at Halston, see wwd.com. -Emily Hsieh

Sarah Jessica Parker to design new Halston label

As if she needed to cement her place in the fashion firmament any more,

Sarah Jessica Parker
is now perched to take over Halston.

The iconic label is once again the talk of Seventh Avenue as reports leaked out today that the "Sex and the City" star will soon take an active design role with Halston Heritage. Read more....

Roy Halston Frowick shot to fashion fame by designing the pillbox hat
Jackie Kennedy wore to her husband's inauguration in 1961.
Later in the '70s his pared-down looks were a perfect match for
the international jetset and the disco era.
His clothes were worn by Liza Minelli, Elizabeth Taylor, Diana Ross,
Bianca Jagger and Angelica Huston.
By signing Parker now, Halston would benefit from the splashy marketing
that will surround the release of the highly-anticipated fashion-flick
"Sex and the City 2" in May.
Parker even wears a Halston-like look in the movie posters and in the movie trailer.
