Barbie Hat Auction Benefits "Clothes off our Back"

Over the years, some very unique traditions have developed around the Kentucky Derby®. Southern couture is on full and radiant display, and one particular accessory is not only a fashion must
— it's a signature wardrobe piece!

That essential is the Derby hat, believed to bring luck to its wearer and often influences a lady's choice of dress (instead of the other way around)! Kentucky Derby® Barbie® doll graces Churchill Downs with a simple and elegant white broad-brimmed hat, accented with roses to honor the traditional blanket of roses draped on the race's winner.

In honor of the 135th anniversary of the Kentucky Derby, Christine A. Moore has designed and created a hat inspired by Kentucky Derby® Barbie® doll, and only 135 of them will be made!
These hats will be available for purchase in The Derby Store (www.thederbystore.com) — with one very special exception.

The first-numbered Kentucky Derby® Barbie™ Replica hat will be the latest high-glamour fashion piece to be put up for bid to the public by The Clothes Off Our Back Foundation, with proceeds going to benefit their charities including Feeding America (formerly named America's Second Harvest), The Art of Elysium, Hope North, and H.E.L.P. Malawi.

Clothes Off Our Back hosts charity auctions showcasing today's hottest celebrity attire and one-of-a-kind collectibles. Not only do they feature the dresses worn by actors and actresses at award shows and costumes worn in feature films, they also auction cameras with photos taken by celebrities attending exclusive events.

The auction is currently taking place, and ends on April 20. It's your opportunity to honor the 135th Run for the Roses™, bring home the height of Southern millinery, and help worthy causes with your bid at www.ClothesOffOurBack.org.
